Workshops – now available to book!

The Kinder Living Team are busy putting together a programme of fun & useful creative workshops for you to join in. There will be a limited number of places available on each workshop and advance booking is essential, so we can plan what’s needed.
Each workshop will last an hour and there is a small charge of £5 towards costs.

The Big Fix                    Saturday 2 July 1045 – 1145
As a homeowner there are jobs you feel you should be able to do yourself….but sometimes they don’t turn out as easy as they might! If you’d like to learn things like which fixings suit which type of wall, how to put shelves and pictures up straight (first time) and how to chose the right drill bit for the job, this workshop is for you!
Simon O’Neill of Riverwood Houses will be using his years of experience in building and joinery to help you get the DIY basics right.

All Wrapped Up                 Saturday 2 July 1200 – 1300
Do you love giving beautifully wrapped gifts, but hate the thought of all that lovely wrapping paper going to waste? This workshop, run by Pam Tedder, is for you! Learn to make your own gift bags and tags and then try out the Japanese technique of Furoshiki, which involves wrapping using fabric,  and take home your own reusable cloth!

Tie it down                    Sunday 3 July 1045 – 1145
Creative necktie upcycling workshop taster. Be inspired by a creative display of clothes, bags and accessories made using unwanted textiles/clothes and neckties.  Learn tips and tricks for working with textiles and make a simple creation using neckties which you can take home.  We welcome those with no or lots of sewing experience.  Workshop delivered by Carrie Cort from Sussex Green Living and her creative community group.

Artistic License               Sunday 3 July 1315 – 1415
Buying original art for the walls of every room is beyond the budget for many of us, and the alternatives are often uninspiring mass-produced prints and ‘wall art’.
Would you like something a little more individual? Local interior designer Jeanette Mercer of Fresh Traditions will show you simple techniques to create attractive decorative pieces for those spaces in your home where a touch of colour or texture is needed.
You’ll get to take home what you make and no artistic talent is required!
